Buddo, July 3, 2025 — A total of over 20 prefects have been officially sworn in at St. Francis Junior School Buddo, in a vibrant and colorful ceremony held at noon on the school campus.
The event, attended by teachers, parents, religious leaders, and fellow pupils, marked a significant moment in the school calendar — a celebration of student leadership, responsibility, and discipline.
In his address, Reverand Father Martin Mayanja, the parish priest of Kisubi Seminary, encouraged the newly elected prefects to embrace creativity and responsibility in their roles, reminding them of the trust placed in them to guide and serve their peers.
“Leadership is not just about wearing a badge; it’s about being an example, solving problems, and building a better school environment,” he said.
The Headteacher, Madam Irene Nassolo Settumba, echoed this message, emphasizing that prefects must lead by example, act as role models, and inspire others through positive action.
Among the newly sworn-in prefects was Kalyango Felix, who took the role of Head Prefect. In his speech, Felix expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to serve diligently.
“We are honored to serve our fellow pupils, and we promise to uphold the values of our school,” he stated.
The swearing-in marks the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership at St. Francis Junior School Buddo, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.
